Here’s a fresh Dubspot tutorial from myself & my good buddy Lil Shiftee. Together we breakdown my Z2 Mercy routine for Native Instruments.
I’m also giving away my custom Maschine MKII Mapping used in the routine RIGHT HERE.
To find out more about my new Traktor routine, check out this interview I did with Dubspot. I discuss my creative process, my appreciation for Fabio, and how I go about getting exercise.
I recently had the great joy and honor of sharing my greatest passion with the esteemed guests of the Traktor Cookery School ADE. What makes my heart sing louder than all else, you might ask? Sandwiches, my dear friend. Sandwiches.
Read the full Beatport News write-up here, including my recipe for the “Everyday Sandwich. That’s right. My sandwiches make headlines.
MOSTLY ROBOT VIDEO
Live @ Electronic Beats Festival 2012, Budapest.
Between our festival appearances, Mostly Robot also literally sat down with the kind and innovative folks at CDR Berlin. We did some “acoustic” versions of our tunes, spoke about our band formation and workflow, and gave motivational nuggets of silliness. Check it out:
I’m hitting you in your ears and your brain, son!
1 – NEW CLUSTER MAG MIX: Your Ears
Cluster Mag has just released a brand new mix from yours truly (“yours truly” is me, Shiftee, for those unfamiliar with the parlance of our times). The mix “Crossed Signals” is easily my most laid back and least frantic effort to date. Moreover, it’s all based around Hip Hop!
Grab the mix here: Cluster Mix Series 008: DJ Shiftee
“Shiftee has built us a mix that privileges deep, thoughtful immersion over dancefloor hedonism, teasing us with flashes of turntablism throughout the 52-minute journey.” – Cluster Mag
2 – NEW DUBSPOT TUTORIAL: Your Brain

My official statement on the routine:
“This is a routine I put together for my recent appearance on the legendary Rinse FM (big shouts to DJ Wonder for having me on!). It’s meant to show my softer side. Yes, you may know me for my manly feats of strength and untapped primal aggression on delicatessen waiting lines. When you think Shiftee, you probably think of a brute force who opens jars, lifts heavy boxes, and attends the gym regularly (big shouts to my trainer Sergi for keeping me toned!). But there’s more to me. I take long walks on the beach. I gaze wistfully at setting suns and old people. I once watched a trailer for The Notebook and felt something deep inside (it was indigestion, but still). Please watch the following video, and get to know the real me. – Forever Yours, Shiftee”
Turntable Lab Radio invited myself & other scratch enthusiasts to throw down a good ol’ fashioned Ahhhh session and discuss scratch issues facing the modern turntablist. Rafik (Germany), R-Ash (France), Excess (NYC), and Spictakular (Jersey!) were all in da house. Grab the full episode HERE and peep some of the scratch madness below:
Shouts to Snack & Cmish for bringing us on. The invite was especially cool for me since I used to check Turntable Lab daily for the latest scratch records and battle videos when I was first coming up. I think I’ve got every DMC, ITF, instructional VHS tape they ever stocked.
