New Podcast // Noise 212 // DANCING SPECIALIST

I whipped up a new mix/podcast for the gang over at Noise 212 called “Dancing Specialist.”  It’s got music on it I’ve scientifically determined makes people dance.  My research has been supported by Michael Flatley, Fred Astaire, the Jabberwocky’s, and Sir Frederick Ezekiel Jock Jams IV, the creator of Jock Jams.

Toadally Krossed Out!

Toadally Krossed Out are some of my favorite producers right now.  I love the strangeness (frog noises FTW) and manic dirtiness of their tunes.  There music is like if frogs mutated in radioactive goo, organized, and then violently took over a raging club (new name suggestion: the frog club, I think outside the box).

I first learned about Toadally Krossed Out when one of my students played me Toad’s Theme, a song I now drop regularly in my sets: YouTube Preview Image

That’s one of the benefits, by the way, of being a DJ teacher.  Many different tastes and styles pass through your tutelage.  I swear “pass through your tutelage” doesn’t mean anything dirty.

I also enjoy this remix they did for Buraka Som Sistema’s “IC19” – Buraka Som Sistema – IC19 (Toadally Krossed Out Remix) by maddecent

However, most pertinently, they just released a rework of Diplo & Tiesto’s “C’mon.”  The track is low down gritty and grimey (like me).  I dropped it for the first time last night at Tresor in Berlin and the reaction was doooope (pronounced “doooope”).  But, it wasn’t as doooope as this video for the track.  Mamma mia!YouTube Preview Image
