PATRIOTIC QUOTES

“This whole damn release is on fire ! BIG LOOK. Seriously.” – Distal, Tectonic/Embassy

“Feelin dat Moony Remix!” – Kastle, Symbols

“TOO many great RMXs on this release. such a pure dancefloor killer on the ORIG too. will be playing to all HOT MOMs across middle America. USA! USA! USA! USA! 10/10″ – Mite, Embassy/BYrslf

“That Wheez-ie Remix is FIIIRE 10/10!” – Trigon, Profound Audio

“This release is amazing! Spooky really goes in on this one! Straight forward and effective. Perfect dancefloor tune! All the remixes do a great job in taking it to the next level. Wheez-ie crushed this one! Star Eyes kills it as well with that bass patch in her remix…wow! I also enjoy Moony’s garage take on it. Funky, but deadly! A must have! 10/10″ – Brent Still Life, Symbols

“A surprisingly different chest-plate rattler. Spooky’s most palatable single release for some time. Whilst his flair for making 8-bar classics is obvious, Code 9 just seems that little bit more considered, more in keeping with the grime that is starting to make headlines outside the genre’s steely confines. A genuinely impressive release from both label and artist.” – Thomas Fraser, Uncle Albert/Grime Digital

“I was told this was a sexy haunted house. Where are the ghost boobies!?!?!?” – Frank Wallerson, Paranormal Pervert

“I challenge you to an old timey duel.” – Aaron Burr, former Vice President

“Spooky’s music got me pregnant. Plus there’s one no one knows about.” – The Octomom

Interview – Who is…DJ Shiftee?
Mix – KNKT3D002: Space Mountain, by DJ Shiftee (right click, save target as)

Statement on the mix – This mix is a bit like a rollercoaster for small children, vertically challenged adults, senior citizens, and tall wimps.  There are ups and downs, sharps turns, and surprises, but ultimately it rarely veers too far in a particular direction.  There are no 1000 foot drops on these rides.  JUST LIKE THIS MIX (well, maybe there are a few ;) ).

That is not to say the mix is boring or that I don’t do tons of tricks and scratching.  Listen, kiddie rollercoasters are fun (okay, maybe I’m a tall wimp).  They may not terrify the beegesus out of you, but they always posses a nice balance of smooth riding and excitement.  JUST LIKE THIS MIX.

Last point.  Just because a rollercoaster is meant for kids, doesn’t mean it’s always smooth sailing.  Sometimes these rides are uncomfortable, and often they have themes and surroundings that are just plain bizarre.  You might look to your left and see a giant stuffed mouse wearing nothing but a bow tie and talking to a huge naked purple dinosaur.  JUST LIKE THIS MIX.

1. The Bug – Jah War ft. Flowdan (Loefah Remix)
2. Numan – Wild Fire (w/ hints of XXXY – You Always Start It)

February Top 10 // Tunes, Big

February: a short month with tall tunes.  February: the Napoleon of months. February: never quite comfortable with its strange spelling. February: an indecisive month (pick how many days you are already!  Don’t give me that rotation of the earth crap!)  February: a frustrating month (stop giving us hints of Spring only to return to freezing temperatures a day later).  February: owes all of mankind 2-3 days per year plus interest over the history of the modern calendar.  February: never appreciated in its own time.  February: the little month that could.
