Once again, I’m going to have my cake and eat it too.  But wait, does this expression make any sense?  Is there ever a situation in which a person would have cake and not eat it?

2010 Top 10* // Tunes, Big

*10 means 25.  Often in life, we are confronted with tough choices.  Coke or Pepsi?  Rubben Studdard or Clay Aiken?  To be or not to be?  Deal or no deal?  In each of these pickles, we also have another choice, namely whether or not we are indeed going to make a choice.  Making decisions takes guts, intestinal fortitude, and moxy.  Avoiding decisions requires cowardice, spinelessness, and anti-moxy.

I am here to tell you my intestines are filled with anti-moxy.  I am not going to rank my 10 favorite tracks of the year, nay I couldn’t even narrow it down to 10.  I am going to list my 25 top tunes…I’m sorry, dear reader…I feel ashamed…oh, the horror!…alphabetically…please forgive me!  I’m drinking a cup of 50% Coke 50% Pepsi.  I am voting for a genetically engineered synthesis of Ruben & Clay.  I am both being and not being simultaneously.  I am making a deal not to make a deal.

Salutations.  I’m writing to you at 11:01am from a Finnish airport.  Why?  Why am I writing to you from an airport in Finland when I  could easily be writing to you from a Danish bus station or a Turkish bath house?  The answer is simple, my dear reader.  When I was trying to select 10 belly turners for this month’s top 10 list, I had some difficulty completing the task.  There was no end in sight!  But then, just 20 minutes ago, walking through this Finnish airport, I saw a line on the ground.  I thought, “my goodness! This is exactly what I need.  A Finnish line.”

And so, with a borderline horrendous pun out of the way, I present my 10 favorite tracks that I heard in October.
