Here’s some footage from my recent professional engagements. Since I am a DJ, the video will be of me DJing. To those out there who dislike DJing, let me be frank: the following is not for you. Morals, integrity, family values, and potentially recyclable materials all go out the window when I DJ (note: I have a giant window). I aim to please everyone, so here’s a more placid alternative: How to Knit.
I recently had the tremendous fortune of participating in the TEDxBloomington conference. The gathering was extremely inspiring and engaging. Alongside educators, athletes, comedians, ninjas, and activists, I dropped 4 themed sets throughout the day to a seated yet enthusiastic audience. My personal highlight was the spontaneous dance party that broke out following my last routine. I didn’t plan to keep spinning, but I had to continue dropping tunes once I saw everyone going off!
One of my favorite presentations came from Charlie Todd, founder of Improv Everywhere. Improv Everywhere “is a New York City-based prank collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places.” I had heard of their “No Pants Subway Ride” prank, but didn’t realize the extent of their work. They’ve been creating hilarious stunts since 2001. Here are some of my favorites from Charlie’s talk.
I’m taking part in this crazy conference on Saturday. Tons of speakers & presenters from a wide range of disciplines. Everyone from improv comedy pranksters to former NFL players to Harvard happiness professors to sexual health experts to multitouch interactive computing developers. The event is going down at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday May 14th. 9am start time! Early birds, come get worms!
